You will serve as a MAIL AND FILE CLERK in the Marine Corps Base Hawaii of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.
Duties
You will receive and review incoming correspondence and determines items that are of a routine nature.
You will assign technical subject-matter numeric file classification to incoming correspondence.
You will determine which documents may exist based on whatever information requester has supplied and on the history of the organization's recordkeeping procedures for the time period involved.
You will assist with the assignment and training of section mail orderlies.
You will edit correspondence to ensure proper format in accordance with regulations, procedures and policy.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing basic administrative processes and forms; maintain files and directives systems, and/or processing and distributing correspondence

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
4 years above high school
OR
Combining Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5 and below.
