You will serve as a Mail Clerk in the S-1 Directorate, located in the Military Post Office of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

Duties

You will review incoming mail, material, including directives and publications. You will determine and verify routing by subject matter. You will prepare control/routing sheet. You will deliver mail by organization unit. You will receive, sort and processes both incoming and outgoing personal mail from United States Postal Service and official command mail from Department of Defense and local agencies. You will ensure effective directory mail service is provided to correct and maintain address standards. You will perform directory service on all undeliverable mail and mail with insufficient address.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. 2 years above high school.
