You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT in the Security Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will implement security programs that are administrative based.
You will process record checks, fingerprint and coordinate personnel management responsibilities.
You will establish security oversight over classified work carried out by cleared DOD contractor employees.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
GS-5 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following clerical and administrative duties: 1) Preparing and maintaining security files and records; 2) Drafting routine correspondence relating to security; and 3) Providing customer service in support of security programs (e.g., pass and identification, police records, physical security, entry point control).
GS-04 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-5 Level:
Successfully completed four years of education above high school;
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
GS-4 Level:
Successful completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school;
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
