This National Guard position is for a ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5002000 and is part of the NM 150th SOW Civil Engineer Squadron, National Guard.
Duties
This position is located in the Environmental Management function at ARNG/ANG bases. Serves as the installation environmental program manager, providing expert technical advice directly to the Commander on National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Installation Restoration Program (IRP), Air Space, Hazardous Waste and various other environmental programs. Represents the commander at various installation environmental meetings to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and federal, state, and local statutes. Serves as the single point of contact for the initiation, development, and execution of all environmental activities and development of installation regulatory guidance. Accomplishes long range base planning of environmental programs.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training demonstrating the knowledge of the principles, practices, and concepts of an environmental program sufficient to serve as the expert technical advisor on the various environmental programs. Experience demonstrating knowledge of environmental issues, problems and solutions regarding federal, state, rural and community environmental regulations. Experience in program planning or administration concerned with environmental protection or other activities related to environmental problems. Experience in an advisory or research capacity involving the creation of solutions to problems concerning environmental protection or other related activities. Experience using on-site investigation techniques, analysis of results and development of conclusions to insure conformance to environmental regulations
