Duties

Conducts research in joint and strategic logistics and supply chain management for the Center for Joint and Strategic Logistics (CJSL). Develops educational material that supports the Senior Director in exercising all Center activities Conducts research and analysis and makes recommendations which serve as a basis for rationalizing logistics activities within the Department of Defense Participates within a network of DoD educational institutions to enhance joint and strategic logistics education to better understand global supply chain trends. Utilizes expert knowledge of joint and strategic logistics and supply chain management processes to identify and recommend study/research areas which can most effectively be undertaken by CJSL. Oversees obligations, commitments, and budget issues in conjunction with program or project studies of the CJSL in support of JSJ4 and OSD Sustainment. Conducts research on broad and undefined concepts for joint and strategic logistics, allied cooperation, logistics command and control, readiness, mobilization and other joint and strategic issues and topics identified by DoD leadership.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Education Program Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Basic Requirement: A Bachelor's Degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education, supply chain management, national security strategy, business administration or another subject-matter field appropriate to the position. Applicants MUST submit a copy of their official college transcripts from an accredited educational institution which reflects that a Bachelor's degree was conferred and the date conferred. Failure to submit your transcripts will result in lost consideration. OR A combination or education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. Applicants MUST submit a copy of their official college transcripts from an accredited educational institution. Failure to submit your transcripts will result in lost consideration. AND B. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the NH-IV level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-III level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Applying a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of logistics education or operational support program areas. Reviewing logistics and supply chain issues. Providing consultative and advisory services on matters of Instructional Design and project funding. Ability to generate new logistic, procurement, and supply chain concepts, policy, and planning initiatives using regulations, legislation, case decisions and contracting principles Conducting and participating in the planning, organizing, coordination, and ability to negotiate effectively with management to implement recommendations. Conducting analyses of strategic logistics, identifying problems and recommending solutions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
