In this position you will serve as a supervisory electronics technician, providing technical expertise in the area of electronics and data collection, providing reviews of test requirements and system setup as-well-as be responsible for the budgeting and investment into new capabilities and equipment.

Provide guidance on the health of the instrumentation flight and its equipment, providing planning to ensure the flight maintains mission readiness and effectiveness.
Lead and supervise a team of electronic technicians by identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and coaching team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques in the application of sled testing; develop strategies for training, mentoring, and continued development of subordinate technician workforce.
Plan, organize, and oversees support for test projects while developing goals and objectives that integrate organization and electronic technical objectives; establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, and mission objectives to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
Performs professional electronics technical work involved in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes in support of major instrumentation systems and support programs for egress and weapon systems.
Systematically applies expertise in electronics engineering to create new or substantially improved equipment, materials, instrumentation, devices, and systems; provides innovative recommendations to alter standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and known techniques.
Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with internal team players, customers, and other organizations; participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-08 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences includes having the ability to supervisory electronics technician, provide technical expertise in the area of electronics and data collection, providing reviews of test requirements and system setup, be responsible for the budgeting and investment into new capabilities and equipment, as-well-as provide guidance on the health of the instrumentation flight and its equipment, providing planning to ensure the flight maintains mission readiness and effectiveness.
Desired Skills:
- Prior active-duty military service desired
- 2 years of experience in program management desired
- 2 years laboratory equipment calibration experience desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of technical electronics, and knowledge of other disciplines to effectively apply advanced electronic principles and concepts to new applications, experimental theories, and other areas of responsibility.
2. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
4. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
