This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence - Intelligence Analysis. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Group Chief for managing several of the analytical branches in OIA. The Group Chief heads a component of OIA that provides intelligence and research support to senior Treasury officials concerning threats to the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States that can be impacted by Treasury authorities and actions.
Duties
Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.
As a Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist, you will:
Direct the group's production of strategic and or long-term intelligence products that identify and analyze information on foreign terrorist groups, WMD proliferators, criminal and rogue regime networks, and other entities and topics of US national security interest to assess implications for U.S. interests and opportunities for U.S. policy.
Balance competing priorities and maintain adequate production pace regarding the production of assigned projects.
Drive intelligence collection on the group's areas of responsibility.
Work closely with other OIA and Intelligence Community components to ensure the needs of Treasury policymakers are met and provide regular feedback on intelligence reporting.
Be responsible for all personnel matters relating to the Group. These include but are not limited to directly supervising branch chiefs, the annual evaluation process for analysts in each branch, mentoring, training, and developing performance standards and evaluations for employees.
Represent the Department of the Treasury and the Office of Intelligence and Analysis in senior-level internal and interagency meetings, including IC working groups on issues related to the specific areas of responsibility of the office.
Develop partnerships with other relevant Treasury and intelligence community elements and collaborates with such partners as appropriate.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Supervising or otherwise managing the formulation of intelligence research and analytical products across multiple portfolios; AND
Supervising or otherwise managing the development of policies, reports, assessments, or memoranda on national security topics related to cyber, economics, finance, or terrorism topics; AND
Directly supervising a team of intelligence analysts.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
