Duties

You will perform recycling materials handling and operate motor vehicles as the primary transporter of recyclable material or supplies. You will operate stake trucks, which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight (GW) of more than 10,000 and up to 26,000 pounds. You will maneuver vehicles in and out of constricted areas. You will load and unload transported material using forklifts or skid steer. You will perform operator maintenance on vehicles operated and assigned to Recycling Center. You will coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments of material based on priorities, scheduling requirements, and space allocations. You will ensure cargo is properly protected, distributed and secured to prevent damage or loss during transit.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Must possess and maintain a Class C commercial driver's license, up to 26,000 pound gross vehicle weight rating.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: SCREEN OUT ELEMENT: Ability to do the work of the position, without more than normal supervision: receiving, processing and transporting recyclable materials by operating motor vehicles that are more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds following established operating requirements.
