You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR ar MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.
Duties
You will operate and perform maintenance on one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks.
You will operate vehicles for regularly established schedules over public roads at highway speeds to transport passengers, patients, supplies, materials, or equipment and tools or tow equipment throughout rural or urban areas.
You will secure the cargo with tie down ropes or a tarpaulin to protect the load, and mark dangerous or protruding cargo with flags, placards, or reflection lights and certify the condition of items and obtain signatures from receiving personnel.
You will operate dump trucks to haul earth, gravel, sand, and similar construction materials or debris such as logs, stumps, and stone over roads, streets, and through open field areas and over difficult terrain.
You will operate vehicles with special purpose accessory equipment and power takeoff devices to transfer engine power to the equipment and operate a variety of controls and equipment gauges (e.g. winch on a flatbed truck).
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to maintain a current State of Hawaii Driver's License.
- You will be required to maintain a CDL License with passenger endorsement
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the WG-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Operates and performs maintenance on one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks, which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 4,500 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and up to 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
