Duties
This job opportunity is located in the Survey Processing Branch, Current Processing Section, Coverage Unit, National Processing Center (NPC), Jeffersonville, IN. This position performs and leads statistical assistant assignments in support of programs. This position is included in the bargaining unit. The individual selected for this position will:
Contact respondents to collect data and perform analysis of statistical data in relation to previously reported data, resolving questionable data responses at the time of contact;
Conduct statistical research, review of tabulation and analysis as to reasonableness of reported information;
Assists in evaluation and research programs by assembling data from various sources, making statistical calculations, and summarizing results for professional review, with responsibility for carrying out all steps required in the analysis;
Responsible for leading the work of three or more grade 04/05 statistical clerks/statistical assistants;
Distribute and balance the workloads, keeping in touch with the status and progress of the work.
Tour of Duty: Hours will range between 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Alternate Work Schedule is available. Alternate Work Schedule is an 80-hour biweekly basic work requirement that is scheduled in less than 10 days; i.e., eight 9-hour days/nights, one 8-hour day/night, and one day off. Other various work schedules are available.
Qualifications
Time in Grade: In addition to specialized experience, you must meet the time in grade requirement. Current and former Federal civilian employees must have held a position at the grade 05 for at least 52 weeks in the Federal Service for promotion to the grade 06.
Specialized Experience: You qualify at the grade 06 level if you possess one year of specialized experience that equips you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. This specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the grade 05 level to meet the qualification requirements in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as performing data verification, providing training to lower graded staff, research and provide resolution to a wide variety of statistical/clerical assignments while communicating with respondents or customers.
Education cannot be substituted for this position.
