As a Conference Management Specialist, you will serve as a program specialist while providing specialized conference, and event planning for the OCC senior management in headquarters, district and field offices.
This position is located in Administrative Operations located in Washginton, D.C.
Duties
As a Conference Management Specialist, you will:
Analyze, plan, negotiate and implement large, complex and highly visible meetings affecting the banking community, government and the public.
Schedule meetings; plan menus; advise on audiovisual equipment; book rooms; and provide guidance to contractors and other personnel on catering services, audiovisual equipment and other meeting related activities.
Prepare reports and evaluations on optimum meeting sites, and market conditions (seasonally), hotel accommodations, travel services, catering, audio/visual services, etc., nationwide and particularly in cities where OCC frequently conducts business.
Plan OCC Conferences and Events policies and procedures including developing, writing, and implementing new policies as they are identified. Review existing processes and making improvements and recommendations to the Conference Officer.
Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies available in the events/conference management industry, including the latest advancements in the audio/visual field. Provide recommendations for improvements in conference planning and execution.
Utilize registration websites and conference booking systems.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 or NB-IV band level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
- Providing oversight of event planning activities and conferences which may include scheduling events; planning menus; and advising on audiovisual equipment. AND
- Utilizing registration websites and conference booking systems to plan and monitor conferences and meetings. AND
- Providing recommendations for improvements to conference and event policies and procedures.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
