About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove.
THIS IS A TERM POSITION NTE 13 MONTHS
Duties
Serve as a Realty Specialist, advisor and consultant to the team leader, supervisor, and other Directorate of Public Works (DPW) management, for both real property and facilities management.
Perform physical inventories and facilities utilization inspection; validates and assures that real property data in GFEBS aligns with field data obtained during inspection.
Provide advice and assistance to other DPW personnel and military units.
Process a wide variety of real property and real estate actions such as acquisitions, outgrants, and utilization and disposition actions for all of III Corps and Fort Cavazos.
Perform all facets of real property accounting, to include review of pertinent contracts, engineering drawings, and site inspection of new construction.
Perform a variety of assignments on real property and real estate acquisition; these generally involve one or more of the following: construction, purchase, easements, license, lease holding, and transfer between federal agencies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Business Travel is occasionally required.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes processing a variety of real estate actions, such as acquisitions, outgrants, utilizations and/or dispositions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Real Estate, Business Management, Marketing, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).
