Duties
You will manage the Command's Fall Protection Program and will serve as a general Safety Specialist for a large, assigned geographic area.
You will evaluate operations, facilities, materials, and equipment affecting fall protection.
You will conduct fall hazard surveys and preparing survey reports, coordinating workplace and personal fall protection system inspections with the supporting competent person for fall protection.
You will schedule, coordinate, and participate in semi-annual fall protection training courses.
You will perform and document workplace safety inspections in a variety of work environments including administrative, industrial/semi-industrial, hazardous material use, and material handling locations.
You will coordinate with the servicing Industrial Hygienist, identifying work areas, processes, or tasks that require respiratory protection.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing safety programs, completing safety inspections and mishap investigations in a variety of work environments, identifying appropriate corrective actions and supporting implementation of controls necessary to abate hazards and/or reduce risk to acceptable levels.

Education
In leiu of expoerience, education may be sibstituted as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
