About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ US Army Pacific, OFC of Operational, Intel HQ Section, Fort Shafter, HI 96858.
Duties
Serves as an Intelligence, Operations and Planner to the G2, U.S. Army, Pacific (USARPAC), performing duties supporting intelligence project integration and operations support.
Reviews National, Department of Defense (DoD), Theater, and Department of the Army (DA) intelligence guidance, priorities and trends.
Responsible for the development, coordination and promulgation of Theater Army Intelligence, operational capabilities and requirements.
Provides research and draft of Title X intelligence requirements, functions, and efforts for the Intelligence Warfighting Function.
Works and coordinates projects with key staff members within the intelligence community to ensure coherency and integration.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
- May be subject to short notice recall during crisis situations and irregular work hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Overtime/shift work may be required.
- This is a Key position IAW AR 690-11. For Ready Reservists or military retirees with recall obligations, prior to occupying the position, must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligations.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Reviewing theater orders, providing recommendations, technical advice and draft theater intelligence operational statements, concept of operations for intelligence capabilities and requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
