You will serve as a Scientist in the Command Digital Artificial intelligence (CDAO) Project of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

You will be a key leader in the development of NSWC PHO vision for the use, adoption, and safeguarding of digital and Artificial Intelligence {Al) for both customer-facing, Warfare Center {WC) usage and within the organization. You will provide expert level technical and operational support and guidance to NSWC in matters relating to system engineering and integration on the digital transformation process. You will identify, integrate and implement technical capabilities, tools, schema, standards, best practices, and training requirements necessary to meet DoD mission objectives, emerging issues, and future needs. You will provide guidance to information technology project managers and stakeholders so that systems development efforts are properly aligned with program/business requirements. You will lead and oversee PHD's data engineering strategy development and policy formulation for data, analytics, and Al. You will create enabling digital infrastructure and services that support NSWC PHD's development and deployment of digital ecosystem to enable digital-enabled engineering solutions.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role AI Innovation Leader proficiency level Advanced. The incumbent must obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Qualification and DON policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional scientist leading a digital and artificial intelligence project to identify, develop, and integrate data analytics capabilities and provide guidance on systems engineering and the analytical modeling process to ensure alignment of program requirements. Applicants must possess:
1550 Series: Degree: computer science; or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

1560 Series: A degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position; or a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours), as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
