This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary of Technology Policy/Office of the National Coordinator (ASTP/ONC), located in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
Serves as an expert to the Agency in matters relating to the comprehensive and continual coordination of legislative proposals for ASTP/ONC
Provides leadership on complex, sensitive, diverse and unique legislative and political matters on pending health care and Health Information Technology (HIT) reform issues.
Performs in-depth analyses of problems and issues of interest to Congress.
Interprets congressional intent on proposed legislative actions and proposes a policy position based on said legislation for the Agency.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.
Specialized Experience:
GS-15: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Analyzing legislative proposals, regulations, and policies to assess the potential impact on agency programs and operations.
Representing an organization/agency to external stakeholders to advocate for the agency's legislative priorities.
Developing plans to integrate health reform-related policy changes into an organization's strategic plans.
Preparing a variety of communications (such as briefings, reports, and presentations) to present recommendations, initiatives, or strategy to senior leaders.
