Recruiting for multiple positions within the FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, MD. You will serve as a scientist, mathematician, or engineer performing complex, in-depth, all-source, scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) analysis on naval platforms and/or systems.

Duties

You will perform complex in-depth all-source analysis and production on foreign maritime Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Cyber (C5) capabilities. You will apply advanced scientific and technical intelligence concepts using specialized digital data analysis tools for application to complex problems. You will lead and track complex scientific and technical intelligence analytic projects. You will prepare and produce all-source technical reports and briefings that demonstrate extensive and comprehensive analytical expertise in radio frequency concepts, communications systems, their networks and protocols, and information pathways. You will review technical products for overall quality, context/relevancy, analytical integrity, methodology, and tradecraft. You will represent the organization and conduct liaison and coordination within the command and the broader Intelligence Community.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties such as: 1. Perform complex, in-depth, all-source, scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) analysis on naval platforms and/or systems. 2. Apply advanced scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) concepts using specialized digital data analysis tools for application to complex problems. 3. Develop, tailor, prepare, and present intelligence assessments in written reports, briefs and other tailored products for an executive level audience. 4. Identify intelligence gaps, specify collection requirements to fill gaps, and develop analytical tools and methodologies to cope with the gaps. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions. GG-1310-13 Basic Requirements:

A. Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

In either A or B above, the courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.


GG-1320-13 Basic Requirements:

A. Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.


GG-1520-13 Basic Requirements:

A. Degree: mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite.


GG-1550-13 Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

Evaluation of Education
Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
