You will serve as an Engineer or Scientist in the Integrated Modeling & Simulation Department of OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE.
Duties
You will serve as the Senior Intelligence Analyst (SIA) and subject matter expert for engineering modeling and simulation to provide advanced engineering analysis within the Integrated Modeling and Simulation Department.
You will organize, plan, direct and advise divisional/departmental resources to produce Scientific and Technical Intelligence based naval threat representative integrated weapon system models and simulations.
You will be responsible for developing various concepts of operations (CONOPS) of engineering tool development and implementation for use in modeling naval threat representative integrated weapon systems.
You will be required to develop and execute engineering analysis on the integrated models and simulations, while mentoring colleagues on usage.
You will represent Farragut, ONI and the Department of the Navy at senior national level and foreign forums.
You will communicate with ONI all source analysts from all areas of responsibilities across threat surface vessels to assist with the full model life-cycle process to include requirement generation, design, development, verification, and validation.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as 1) organizing, planning, directing, and advising divisional/departmental resources to produce Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&T) based naval threat representative integrated weapon system models and simulations; 2) reviewing divisional/departmental modeling and simulation products for accuracy; 3) developing technical contracts to support modeling and simulation efforts; 4) maintaining liaison with interagency partners to understand user requirements and applicable technology capabilities; and, 5) ensuring that transition and integration plans seamlessly fit within the Intelligence Community Enterprise and TAC/ONI data architecture.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual for the 801 and 854 series:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)
OR
Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual for the 1550 series:
Bachelor's degree in computer science
or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
