Duties

You will serve as an ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the INDUSTRIAL PLANT EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES SHOP (06B) of the TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY (TRIREFFAC) located in KINGS BAY, GA. You will troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical/electronic components and systems of machines and industrial plant equipment (IPE) used in various TRIREFFAC facilities to support submarine refit operations. You will plan and design the layout of electrical/electronic components such as disconnects, fuse blocks, terminal boards, magnetic starters, hour meters, etc. to affect the proper operation of machines or systems. You will perform verification tests on electrical and electronic machinery and equipment repaired/maintained to certify proper safe operations. You will perform related duties including quality control coordination tasks required to ensure the quality of products/services resulting from work performed.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT-II designation.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Experience applying knowledge of electrical theory and instruments. Experience applying knowledge of technical practices related to the installation and repair of electrical and electronic components and systems of heavy equipment. Experience interpreting instructions, drawings, diagrams, specifications, etc. Experience using and maintaining tools and instruments associated with electrical/electronic work. Experience completing IPE maintenance training and maintain knowledge of the necessary equipment.
