You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the Aviation Supply Department of HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE WING PAC.
Duties
You will perform inventory management functions for items supporting aircraft and commands stationed at Naval Air Station, North Island.
You will function as an Item Manager for all supported weapons systems and coordinate/manage replenishment actions for specific supply support programs such as transient aircraft, Shore Consolidated Allowance Lists (SHORCALs), Splinter SHORCALs, etc.
You will review and analyze demand data, determine the range and depth of items to be carried, establish levels and ensure replenishment and follow up actions are taken to bring material into station stock.
You will determine appropriate source of supply and authorize procurement or manufacture of material when material is not readily available in the supply system.
You will expedite outstanding stock dues by interrogating the Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia or Mechanicsburg, Defense Logistics Agencies (DLA), Army and Air Force activities for material availability to satisfy requirements.
You will remain apprised of all planned and special program changes and schedules in order to interpret the impact on the mission of supply support and to increase and improve supply effectiveness and support.
You will conduct extensive data collection and apply general standards and guidelines in preparing concise, analytical conclusions that determine the course of action required to expedite material requirements.
You will identify and analyzes conditions and elements to discern interrelationship with other actions, related supply programs and alternative approaches.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing supply data to determine material stock and availability, develop reports, and resolve unexpected discrepancies in order to expedite delivery of requisitions for a weapons or materials Supply Branch (e.g. Aviation/Aircraft).
For the GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing supply systems to monitor and reconcile routine and recurring supply transactions and identify discrepancies in data reports in order to determine status of requisitions for a weapons or materials Supply Branch (e.g. Aviation/Aircraft).

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
One full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled;
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
