You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the DOCUMENT CONTROL UNIT of the COMPONENT CONTROL BRANCH, AVIATION SUPPORT DIVISION (ASD), AVIATION SUPPLY DEPARTMENT, COMMANDER of the HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE WING PAC.

Duties

You will work with contacts to expedite, obtain, clarify, provide and/or exchange factual information to correct discrepancies in documentation and identify, verify, and resolve supply problems. You will use a skillful and tactful approach to acquire needed information and required action from other that often have a conflicting purpose. You will extract and review data and supply publications from NALCOMIS, ICP databases, and e-RMS. You will utilize Aviation Depot Level of Repairable (AVDLR) End-use Program, Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS), and the Electronics Repairable Management State (E-RMS) You will monitor the paperwork and records associated with receiving, storing, issuing, replenishing, or inventorying commonly used administrative supplies and equipment. You will make entries to various paper and computer files to control receipt, follow-up actions, back-orders, stock record changes, requisition files, and related supply records. You will effectively communicate with contacts to obtain, clarify, provide, and/or exchange factual information regarding shipment of materials. You will work with contacts that involve Navy personnel within and outside of the immediate organizations as well as private contractors and representatives from other agencies. You will receive, monitor and/or expedite the movement of material from the time the material received from the customer through the repair cycle. You will intervene and identify through research and analysis where discrepancies and problems exist. You will evaluate existing procedures for effectiveness and assist in the establishment of local procedural guidelines to obtain optimum level of material accountability. You will receive, account for, screen, and expedite repairable components received from fleet units and other ashore activities. You will perform extensive research prior to rejecting components due to equipment modifications, Inventory Control Point (ICP) discrepancies by use of various supply systems and personnel. You will independently plan and organize work which often involves deviations from established procedures, applying new techniques and concepts to meet established and emergency deadlines.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You must be willing and able to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Often required to use back protection devices, safety shoes and gloves when handling certain items.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing supply system databases and supply procedures to track requisitions, inventory, and the disposition of aviation repairable assets to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations.
