This National Guard position is for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), Position Description Number NGT572000 and is part of 114 CF in Sioux Falls, SD.
This is a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position. A Title 32 announcement will run concurrently, only one will be selected.

As a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), GS-2210-12, you will:
This position is located in the Plans and Resources section of a Base Communications unit. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Plans and Resources section supervisor and a senior Information Technology (IT) specialist.
Requirements
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Must be certified IAW DOD 8570.01-M, Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, Clinger Cohen Act of 1996 and current AF directives.
- Conducts travel to and from offsite worksite(s) from the normal work area to perform assigned duties. This may include Operating Locations (OL) and/or Geographically Separated Units (GSU).
- Position covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment of the Gun Control Act of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- THIS POSITION CONDUCTS INFORMATION ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS.
- THE INCUMBENT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE OUTLINED IN DOD INSTRUCTION 8570.01-M.
Qualifications
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate
Specialized Experience: Must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent) in the competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities listed. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training.
Skill to provide administrative control and technical supervision over personnel responsible for oversight of network services functions and systems administration of information technology.
Knowledge of Communications Flight organizational structure and programs administered by each section in order to establish short and long range communications goals and priorities to meet Wing IT requirements.
Skill to review, revise, and develop policies to govern IT activities and present recommendations to higher-level management.
Skill to provide authoritative technical advice/solutions to communications customers and ensure an integrated approach to satisfy requirements.
