Duties
This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB),Office of the Administrator.
As a Senior Advisor, you will:
Facilitate coordination between the Office of the Administrator and TTB as a whole.
On behalf of the Administrator and Deputy Administrator, negotiates with senior leaders from across TTB's directorates to obtain needed resources and support for the Bureau's strategic goals and objectives.
Review, evaluate, and prepare reports on emerging issues and problems concerning policies, programs, and operations; analyzes current developments.
Review and analyze TTB policy objectives, determining possible impacts on the Office of the Administrator and TTB directorates and providing options and potential courses of action for consideration by senior leadership.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes:- Assessing impact of changes to laws, policy, regulations, and operations in areas of multifaceted jurisdiction (such as tax and/or consumer protection) and advising on future direction; AND
- Drafting briefing materials and policy documents, and presenting on matters to senior officials, Congressional/White House staff, industry groups, the public, or other Federal and State agencies; AND
- Leading projects to improve an organizations policies and programs, using analytical methods and techniques, that support and provide measurable results/outcomes to senior officials.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
