About the Position: Fort Gregg-Adams, Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg-Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg-Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs.

Duties

Analyzes concept, plans action, conducts research, coordinates information for input, and provides feedback on evaluation of approved training. Applies professional knowledge of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE)process and TRADOC policies and procedures to develop cogent functionality-supporting training products. Develops proactive strategies to support continuous process improvement in training or educational programs. Analyzes, design, and develop instructional materials to ensure implementation of quality courseware. Prepares and provide briefs and/or papers to explain, market, and justify training solutions and results to internal and external evaluations

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

Basic Educational Requirement: Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: 1. Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. 2. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. 3. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. 4. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. 5. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. (Must include transcripts) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) administering, advising and/or providing educational or training services in formal education; 2) researching, analyze and prepare documents regarding training effectiveness; 3) providing advice and consultation to customers on the evaluation of educational applications; AND 4) resolving problems dealing with training and educational requirements and training solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Instructional Materials & Curriculum DevelopmentInstructional Program EvaluationNeeds/Occupational AnalysisTests and Measurement Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
