The primary purpose of this position is: To manage all aspects of information systems to include acquisition, support, training, and installations for the Civil Engineer Squadron.
Duties
Administers all CES information systems.
Manages life cycle of computer systems and software for CES.
Manages the CES information systems security program.
Information Assurance Manager (IAM) for installation Industrial Control System (ICS).

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes; Utilizing current system software supported at the organization to include operating system and application software packages; the utilization of civil engineering systems, operational policies, and procedures. Utilization of computer equipment, internal computer processes, application and utility programs, and magnetic media. Applies a wide range of reoccurring computer techniques, requirements, sources, and procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of computer and network standards, policies, and techniques.
2. Knowledge of servers and commercial off the shelf/government off the shelf software to identify corrective or preventative actions to ensure optimum performance.
3. Knowledge of facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems.
4. Skills in troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve conventional problems and provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers.
5. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems and develop effective and economical solutions; and train users on new computer systems.
6. Ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
