You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the Retail Clothing Branch, Service and Supply Division of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.

Duties

You will inspect and check the fit of new and altered clothing. You will transfer inventory from bulk storage to appropriate issue point. You will perform regular housekeeping duties for the proper police of the work area. You will identify manufacturer defects through visual inspection and ensure uniform item replacement. You will be responsible for the physical receipt, bulk storage, issue, and inventory of military clothing reports.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift certification.
  • You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license and keep your possession while operating the Material Handling Equipment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
