About the Position: Join us at the United States Southern Command. We provide direct support to a four-star unified Combatant Commander, but are compact enough that our staff also works with senior leadership representatives of our inter-service, inter-agency and (public and private) international partner organizations. Our contribution to furthering our country's relationships with South and Central American nations and peoples are substantial.
Duties
Oversee planning and execution of College Information technology infrastructure, services, and life cycle management.
Supervise military and contractors to provide supply, transportation, logistics, IT, and facility management supporting master’s degree program.
Identify problems and prioritize conflicting tasks to solve individual and organizational shortfalls.
Supervise vehicle operations to ensure executive travel and logistics are met.
Assign direct and implied tasks to other departments (O-6 or equivalents) to track their progress and completion.
Plan service contracts for facility and grounds management, information technology services and maintenance, and other logistics services.
Plan schedules for College facility operations and maintenance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Incumbent must have ability to orally communicate in Spanish or Portuguese languages at 1+/1+/1+level.
- Incumbent may be required to be in an on-call status and be required to carry an electronic device for the purpose of being contacted.
- Work is in historical buildings, ability to frequently transit stairs is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience 1) Leading military personnel and utilizing project management skills for short and long term projects focused on logistics, supply, and facility management. 2) Interpreting implied and direct tasks with effective skills in verbal and listening communication. 3) Working in an international environment and ability to learn the technical aspects of information technology. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
