You will serve as a COMPOSITE FABRICATOR LEADER in the Industrial Execution Department, at NAS Whidbey Island of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will conduct training sessions designed to update, improve, and upgrade the knowledge and skills of others by selecting, modifying, and using various instructional methods and techniques. You will demonstrate proper trade techniques and practices, explaining safety precautions to be followed in setting up machinery and equipment. You will guide and counsel those striving to improve performance. You will perform production work at the journeyman level during times when not engaged in training requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD. And have the ability to independently perform the most difficult and complex tasks as an expert or have been consulted by other employees in difficult situations performing duties including: 1) Ability to assemble, make, install, test, repair, etc. (Examples include working with units, components, accessories); 2) Working on complete systems; 3) Assemble, disassemble, install, test, maintain, repair and troubleshoot; 4) Calibrate for accuracy, modify and design; 5) Able to determine proper operation.
