This position serves as a Branch Chief within the Region 8 Mitigation Division. The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in leading/managing teams with a voluminous and complex workload and will have experience with human resources processes and procedures. Experience in the interpretation and implementation of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) and HMGP - Post Fire is desired along with experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

In this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation) position, you will lead a team of employees implementing all aspects of grants program management and implementation related to the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), HMGP - Post Fire, and most recently the increased HMGP COVID workload.

To qualify for this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation) position at the IC-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Providing supervisory oversight of employees (e.g., identifying priorities, evaluating performance, reviewing outcomes, etc.).
Communicating policies and program guidance for emergency management programs to senior leadership and staff; and
Collaborating with stakeholders concerning the administration of hazard mitigation programs.
