About the Position: This is a Supervisory Natural Resources Specialist position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, Operations Division, Fort Gibson Lake Office, located in Okay, Oklahoma.
Duties
Attend civic or public meetings to discuss recreation/resource management programs.
Assist in the development and overview of the recreation fee program.
Patrol and inspect project lands and provide visitor assistance.
Assist with operation and maintenance of flood control structures.
Assist with development and execution of project budgets and work plans.
Assign, evaluate, train, develop, and disciple subordinate employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Occasional Travel (TDY).
- Appointment may be subject to a 1-year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. BASIC EDUCATION
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE.
Have one year of experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which include performing at least 2 of the following 3 duties: 1) Implementing plans for at least one of the following natural resources programs; fish/wildlife management, forestry or vegetation management, rangeland conservation, or soil conservation; OR 2) Coordinating public recreation programs such as oversight for recreation areas or access points at a multi-purpose lake/project; OR 3) Participating in a flood risk management mission to include operation or maintenance of critical infrastructure.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
