You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION) in the SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT BRANCH of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will monitor and ensure system performance, accessibility, integrity, efficiency, and operational availability.
You will analyze system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
You will evaluate and provide recommendations of system resources for acquisition of licensed COTS software.
You will ensure adherence to standards and guidelines required to maintain cybersecurity compliance of the RDBMS systems.
You will perform as technical expert for development and maintenance of scripts on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems for data file transfers supporting survey activities, system monitoring, and other system administration tasks.
You will analyze users and software application needs to define and document middleware requirements.
You will perform evaluation of contractor deliverables from a technical perspective validating requirements and procedures while being cognizant of contracting rules and regulations.
You will maintain cybersecurity compliance of all supported environments according to the DoD and DON guidelines and requirements.
You will develop and document solutions or Courses of Action (COAs) for issues or requirements.
You will provide formal technical presentations at the command level and prepare detailed documents for NAVOCEANO and other high-level activities.
You will develop quality solutions, recommend and develop techniques to improve organizational efficiencies, and provide innovative and mission and move toward its long-term vision.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN), proficiency level INTERMEDIATE. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
To qualify for the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), GS-2210-13, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with system and software administration tasks such as installing, patching, configuring, integrating, and monitoring of web servers, geospatial web applications and relational database management systems (RDBMS) on Linux or Windows operating systems.
Experience maintaining cybersecurity compliance of software according to the organization guidelines and requirements.
Experience evaluating and implementing compliance strategies for information assurance vulnerabilities (IAVs), and monitoring system to ensure operational availability.
Experience performing software administration duties required to maintain cybersecurity compliance of the ESRI ArcGIS products and database systems and serving as a technical expert for ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise and relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
