Duties
You will ensure the quality and standardization of daily air traffic operations.
You will develop and submit the Annual Training Plan (ATP) to the Air Traffic Control Facility Officer (ATCFO) for approval and implementation.
You will provide oversight for the composition of monthly proficiency classes in concert with the ATP.
You will establish and maintain an effective On-the-Job Air Traffic Control (ATC) training program.
You will conduct an annual review of the Facility Manual (FACMAN) as required by the Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) ATC Manual.
You will establish command visits with adjacent ATC facilities and agencies to improve inter-facility working relationships and coordination efforts.
You will develop, establish, maintain, and update critical element performance standards; conduct progress reviews as applicable; and provide job related career guidance with current Federal and local agency administrative information.
You will supervise personnel matters of subordinates to include their performance ratings, initiate reports of disciplinary and commendatory actions.

- This position requires to be a graduate of the air traffic controller (ACAI), or equivalent DOD or DOT, air traffic controller course.
- This position requires to have successfully completed the FAA Airman's Written Test (AWT)
- This position requires to have attained the position qualifications and ATCS ratings required for MCAF Quantico.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must pass, prior to appointment and annually thereafter, a medical employment physical.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience is preferred.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing techniques to expedite and improve the quality of controller training and technical expertise, assisting the facility officer in the standardization of the facility's training program and procedures AND comprehensive technical air traffic controller knowledge and understanding of the laws, rules, regulations, and procedures governing the movement of air traffic.
