This position serves as a Correspondence Management Analyst, located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of the Executive Secretariat in Washington, D.C. The Office of the Executive Secretariat is the central coordination point in the Department of Justice responsible for ensuring proper and expeditious action on correspondence addressed to the Attorney General. Deputy Attorney General and Associate Attorney General.

The duties and responsibilities of a Correspondence Management Analyst generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure assignments are correct, controlled, and timely and reflect the policies of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Apply research skill, analytical techniques, and sound judgment in developing a wide range of materials covering diversified, complex subjects.
Provide assessments required for effective, consistent direction of the functions of the DOJ.
Prepare written material in a clear, concise, comprehensive form matched to the intended purpose for the DOJ.
Perform special studies and provides assistance to the Offices of the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General and Associate Attorney General in a variety of areas.
Monitor objectives, evaluate progress and identify problems.
Carry out a variety of continuing and special assignments concerned with the assigned areas of a confidential or sensitive nature.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31, 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Correspondence Management Analyst at (GS-0301-12/13), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: 1) Reviewing and editing reports, correspondence, or other materials dealing with technical, policy, and/or program issues for accuracy, adherence to policy, organization of material, appropriateness for intended audience and grammar. AND
2) Interacting with executive level staff as well as developing relationships and collaborating with individuals internal and external to your work group.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: 1) Reviewing and editing reports, correspondence, or other materials dealing with technical, policy, and/or program issues for accuracy, adherence to policy, organization of material, appropriateness for intended audience and grammar; 2) Recommending policy or procedural changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a program; AND 3) Interacting with executive level staff as well as developing relationships and collaborating with individuals internal and external to your work group.
