This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence -Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). As an Assistant Director, Regulatory Affairs, you will be part of a team responsible for implementing and administering U.S. sanctions programs, ensuring that the sanctions programs are developed, interpreted, and implemented in a manner consistent with pertinent legislation and regulations, foreign policy, national security, and OFAC strategic objectives.

Duties
As an Assistant Director Regulatory Affairs, you will:
assist the AD SPI in the overall regulatory management of OFAC programs, implementing economic and trade sanctions imposed by the United States.
in consultation and coordination with the Chief Counsel (Foreign Assets Control) and Assistant Director for Policy, direct the formulation and revision of all regulations implementing economic sanctions programs administered by OFAC.
be responsible for the management and direction of all operations of the Regulatory Affairs Division in leading and coordinating the planning, development, and implementation of the regulations for U.S. sanctions programs.
oversee the Treasury Department's Presidential Documents process with respect to economic sanctions.
play a leading role in shaping OFAC's activities in the development of new Executive Orders and regulatory programs to carry out new sanctions imposed by Congress or the President or to reflect changes in U.S. foreign policy with respect to existing sanctions programs.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes ALL of the following:
Assisting in managing and participating in the formulation and revision of regulations and regulatory documents implementing economic sanctions programs; AND
Assessing the effectiveness of a regulatory program involving sensitive foreign policy and/or national security and developing recommendations for improvement to implement U.S. foreign policy, Executive actions, and legislative changes; AND
Leading multiple project teams in the performance of work involving program reviews, analyses and development of cross-agency activities.;
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
