As a Supervisory AST, Engineering Project Management (Deputy Division Chief) of the Command, Control, and Communication Office of the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program, you will be responsible providing leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to the organization and KSC in the design, development and operational readiness of Command and Control Elements and Communications Element for the EGS Program.
Duties
Manages the overall development efforts for a significant and complex NASA program or a set of complex projects with multiple interfaces and extensive scope and variety.
Supports the planning, integration, coordination, and critical management of problems with respect to requirements development and execution, contract management, and program management of complex software and hardware systems.
Monitors contractors engaged in various projects for the program.
Assists the Office chief in Directorate long-range planning for new and expanded program objectives specifically targeted at carrying out NASA's goals, objectives, and strategies.
Supports mission requirements and initiates design and modification efforts as necessary.
Monitors and controls program or project development efforts and resource utilization.
Restructures and re-orients Division goals to meet requirements as necessary.
Leads and provides technical expertise in the areas of Project management, engineering, and technical integration.
Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Requirements

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Providing project management and/or systems engineering expertise for large, complex software intensive projects;
Integrating budget, schedule, and technical details across multiple project or contractor organizations to achieve an optimal solution for operations;
Communicating effectively to project stakeholders and management complex technical data.
