At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. Serve at the nation's financial intelligence unit and protect the United States financial system from criminals and terrorist financiers.
Duties
This position is located in our Strategic Operations Division . As a Strategic Engagement Advisor, you will:
Coordinate, in collaboration with the Director of Office of Stakeholder Integration and Engagement, Strategic Operations Division leadership and staff, and other FinCEN divisions to identify topics, develop content, and solicit partners for impactful FinCEN Exchange events and BSAAG.
Represent SOD at conferences, meetings and inter/intra agency working groups upon request. Provides expert advice or technical assistance to Treasury counterparties, representatives of regulated industries, and federal and state regulatory partners on complex information sharing issues, BSA requirements, FinCEN regulations and policies, or Treasury policies.
Develop long-term plans, goals and objectives to effectively identify opportunities for collaboration with stakeholders on financial crimes threats and to build relationships with regulated financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, and other national security agencies.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Providing advice to leadership on emerging trends and engagement opportunities related to illicit finance, money laundering, or national security threats; AND
Developing strategies to promote information sharing related to AML/CFT or related issues; AND
Identifying opportunities for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as law enforcement, interagency agency counterparts, or industry representatives.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Researching emerging threats and engagement opportunities related to illicit finance, money laundering, or national security threats; AND
Developing strategies to promote information sharing or collaboration related to AML/CFT or related issues
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Researching emerging threats and engagement opportunities related to illicit finance, money laundering, or national security threats; AND
Participating in information sharing or outreach projects or programs related to AML/CFT or similar threats
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
