About the Position: This position is for Directorate of Dental located at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
A locality rate of 21.79% has been authorized for Hawaii. A cost of living allowance has been authorized for Hawaii at the rate of 8.90% (subject to change).
Duties
Provide resource management, administrative and clerical support.
Maintain cost records and continuously monitors expenditures in relation to funds allocated.
Create, maintain, and continuously updates personnel and labor rate data.
Monitor the status of funds and advises appropriate personnel of projected over expenditures or trends which indicate potential overuse of funds.
Maintain logs, records and assembles and annotates documents for action or file insuring enclosures are properly labeled.
Make arrangements for conferences, meetings and briefings; and prepares travel documents.
Compare and reconcile project cost records, identifies and determines the reasons for deviations, and makes appropriate adjustments to bring records into agreement.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Position may be designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 44-45 pounds is required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes perform clerical and administrative duties relative to the operation of the office such as email correspondence, record keeping, or word processing. Maintains logs/records for accuracy and filing of documents according to standard procedure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
