To provide technical training instruction for enlisted initial skills and/or supplemental technical training and associated knowledge to Air Force (AF) military, civilians, and contractors; military and/or civilians from other services or agencies; and international partners supporting the Command and Control Operations Specialty (C2OS) field.
Duties
-Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic levels in the Command and Control Operations Specialty (formerly known as Command Post) courses.
-Acts as the SME for C2OS course materials to help ensure they meet career field training requirements.
-Plans, develops, executes, and evaluates a comprehensive and effective training program.
-Maintains professional and technical proficiency and accomplishes special projects related to specialty area, to include staff surveillance visits to various training activities.

- Position has been identified as a faculty member of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC).
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Work is performed in a classroom environment that involves everyday risks and common safety precautions.
- May at times require long periods of standing, moderate lifting and carrying ability (up to 25 lbs). May at time require climbing stairs (up to 3 flights).
- Minimum degree requirement of an Associate’s Degree from CCAF or a regionally/nationally accredited post- secondary institution in the discipline or in combination with appropriate work experience in Command/Control Operations or Emergency Management
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712 +IOR.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

This is a Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 position: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest, and knowledge
of Command and Control Operations (Command Post) at a practical level to include knowledge and practical experience of the Command and Control systems and the role of the Air Force therein. Knowledge and practical experience in fixed ground, mobile and airborne command and control facilities such as installation and Expeditionary Command Post, Operations Centers, Rescue Coordination Centers, and Combatant Command and Major Command (COCOM/MAJCOM) command centers, and knowledge of tests and measurements principles, techniques, and objectives.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D. with a major study in education or Business Administration (logistics/transportation). NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instructions to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest.
2. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
