As a Project Manager, you will manage a variety of complex projects involving initial space design and build out, repair and alterations, and new construction to provide space that is suitable for customer needs.
Location of position: Public Building Service, Service Center Operations Divisions (SCODS) and Real Estate Division (RED)
We may be filling four vacancies, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
The Service Center Operations Divisions are responsible for all aspects of facility operations, including operating, maintaining and sustaining high quality work environments. Each SCOD provides outleasing expertise, field support, guidance and operational expertise.

The GS-11 salary range starts at $72,553 per year. The GS-12 salary range starts at $86,962 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify for the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is utilizing project management practices and tools to manage or assist with construction and/or repair and alteration projects in a real estate environment. This experience must include:
● Managing projects (balancing scope/quality, schedule and budget) requiring the services of multiple disciplines (i.e., construction, design, IT, telecommunications, interior furnishings, etc.) from project planning phase through financial closeout;
● Interpreting customer needs and developing them into actionable requirements;
● Coordinating and balancing project plans, budgets, and schedules;
● Coordinating and facilitating decisions with multiple stakeholders;
● Applying procurement knowledge and experience to assist with managing contracts supporting assigned projects; and
● Participating in negotiations for sound real estate business transactions.
OR
You may also qualify if you have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or have successfully completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
Have a combination of graduate education and specialized experience that when combined together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, you must have at lease one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is utilizing project management practices and tools to simultaneously manage multiple construction and/or repair and alteration projects in a real estate environment. This experience must include:
● Managing projects (balancing scope/quality, schedule and budget) requiring the services of multiple disciplines (i.e., construction, design, IT, telecommunications, interior furnishings, etc.) from project initiation phase through financial closeout;
● Interpreting customer needs and developing them into actionable requirements;
● Developing, managing, and balancing project plans, budgets, and schedules;
● Coordinating and facilitating decisions by managing multiple stakeholders;
● Applying procurement knowledge and experience to manage contracts supporting assigned projects; and
● Negotiating sound real estate business transactions.
