Duties

Provide constructive feedback, mentorship training; watch for opportunities to teach, provide support and invite the appropriate training for employees. Maintain clear communication to ensure dispatchers adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and Policies and Regulations. Serves as timekeeper for ATAAPS; prepares dispatcher timesheets for approval.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position is subject to shift work. The incumbent is required to work an alternate work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The incumbent may be required to wear a uniform.
  • Incumbent is required to work regardless of weather conditions, Terrorist Force Protection Condition or installation closure and to report to the duty station at the regularly scheduled time.
  • Newly hired personnel are required to obtain and maintain the certifications outlined in this section within one year of employment. Supervisor may adjust timeframe depending upon funding and training availability.
  • The incumbent is required to possess and maintain certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 10% of the time.
  • Subject to callback, on call and mandatory overtime as mission requires.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interrogating emergency line callers to determine the problem and/or nature of the call; using a computer keyboard to acknowledge or defer alarms; and dispatching a variety of emergency equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyEmergency CommunicationLeadershipTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
