You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the Provost Marshal Office of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR.
Duties
You will set the tactical priorities and strategies for incidents including but not limited to structural fires, wildland fires, aircraft rescue and Weapons of Mass Destruction/Hazardous Material Incidents.
You will ensure the proper authorities are notified in the event of a hazardous spill or extremely hazardous substance release in accordance with the Facilities Response Plan.
You will perform the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.
You will be responsible for the overall supervision of emergency incidents that occur on shift.
You will serve in various Incident Command System positions, such as Incident Commander, Safety Officer, Division Officer or a Strike Team/Task Force Leader on Mutual Aid responses.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This position requires rotating shift work.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNIAN, NATIONAL AND/OR STATE REGISTRY certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current INCIDENT SAFETY OFFICER certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT COMMANDER certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current FIRE INSPECTOR II certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current FIRE INSTRUCTOR II certification and FIRE OFFICER III certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responsible for the overall supervision of emergency incidents that occur on shift. Setting tactical priorities and strategies for incidents including but not limited to structural fires, wildland fires, major vehicle accidents, aircraft rescue, weapons of mass destructions, and hazardous materials incidents.
