Duties
Ability to apply knowledge to develop innovative solutions to solve difficult and complex outdoor recreation planning problems, issues, or projects; and establish new methods and procedures that positively impact overall program execution.
Assist in the development of recreation resource policy, programs and regulations.
Develop guidelines, technical standards and procedures for recreational uses on public lands.
Provide advice and assistance to state and field personnel on interpretation of legislation, regulations, standards and operating procedures.
Prepare and manage agreements, MOUs and other coordination documents.
Requirements

Qualifications

For GS-13: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the federal service. Specialized experience at this level is defined as experience analyzing and evaluating outdoor recreation interests, habits, and needs of diversified groups, and devising the means for meeting changing needs including advising leadership on changes in funding, staffing or policy needed to address changing expectations. Experience developing or managing travel and transportation management-related data and planning activities and developing practices or policy guiding the implementation of such efforts beyond the state level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
