You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the Force C4 and Combat Systems/N6 of COMMANDER NAVAL AIR PACIFIC.

Duties

You will serve as the Strike Fighter community resident expert in applying telecommunications and networking technology and engineering to support integration, operation, sustainment, and advancement. You will perform duties related to developing plans, policies, and procedures for current and future systems and networks. You will define, develop, and implement current and projected operational mission planning and support systems network requirements as well as the solutions needed to satisfy them. You will correlate technical conclusions concerning methods for meeting requirements, relative costs, and advantages of alternative approaches, lead times, and supporting requirements. You will negotiate with users concerning modifications of requirements to reduce anticipated technical problems or excessive costs and coordinating funding arrangements and schedules. You will provide liaison between technical personnel developing detailed design specifications and users' activities on problems and delays and resolves such problems and delays.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating telecommunication and network requirements to identify technological deficiencies and develop recommendations for planning and implementing system upgrades and maintenance to resolve complex communication system problems for an organization.
