You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the (C5I) DEPARTMENT (N6) of STRIKE FIGHTER WING PACIFIC STAFF.

Duties

You will define, develop, and implement current and projected operational mission planning systems network requirements. You will collaborate with users concerning modifications of requirements to reduce anticipated technical problems or excessive costs, and coordinate funding arrangements and schedules for providing required services. You will implement and manage advanced integrated telecommunications solutions and technologies. You will manage and perform installation, configuration, update, and troubleshooting of network equipment You will review and refine manual and automated network traffic sampling techniques and reporting procedures. You will develop capabilities to support advancements in mission planning and support systems communications and networking. You will manage and maintain the Strike Fighter community communications and networking environment configuration and inventory control processes. You will develop new concepts, approaches, methods and techniques for accomplishing the organizations objectives.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (441), proficiency level (Advanced) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating telecommunication and network requirements to identify technological deficiencies and develop recommendations for planning and implementing system upgrades and maintenance to resolve complex communication system problems for an organization.
