Provide program support including administrative and clerical oversight, as well as review all incoming correspondence, and route information with minimal supervisory involvement. Also responsible for administrative functions that include budget, finance, space planning, and property management at the Miami VA Medical Center.
Duties
Major duties include but aren't limited to:
Determine pertinent issues and collect relevant information from a variety of sources.
Enter leaf requests to open/close clinics as directed by the AO or service chief.
Maintain and update on call schedule in agenda.
Conduct periodic surveys of equipment and property use, recommend action to ensure economical and efficient use of equipment and other VA property.
Responsible for the market research, statement of work, independent government cost estimates (IGCE), and all other COR related duties for the procurement of High Tech and High-Cost Imaging equipment.
Set up and maintain systems in place to control purchasing and usage of supplies.
Monitor expenditures and forecasts changes that require modifications of fund or cost transfer for assigned areas of responsibility.
Prepare and assemble charts, data, reports, and statistical materials provided for ongoing organizational planning.
Generate required reports for key managers and organizations to ensure that the imaging service meets VISN, VACO, Joint Commission, Office of Inspector General, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, OSHA and other local and federal regulatory commissions.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/07/2024.
This position requires a typing requirement of 40 words per minute.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: perform and monitor established management requirements for a department; apply administrative policies, maintain various systems; provide advice and guidance; serve as a timekeeper; coordinate the administrative aspects of office needs, supply and relocation, office construction, and other facility improvements; prepare necessary documents; identify and perform liaison tasks; participate in developing short and long range goals..

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary in a hospital office inside the administrative radiology service. The job requires, sitting, walking, standing, bending and carrying small supplies and equipment.
