As a Building Manager, you will be responsible for planning, management, coordination, and direction of the operation and maintenance of approximately 2,500,000 or more, adjusted square feet, of GSA-operated space inFederal Buildings.
Location of position: Office of Facilities Management - Potomac Service Center, National Capital Region, Public Buildings Service, General Services AdministrationWe are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Serve as chief advisor on building operations and facilities management matters planning, prioritizing and analyzing requirements for space assignment, alterations and utilization; overseeing and applying inspection techniques and measuring devices; conducting evaluations; monitoring project schedules; and allocating manpower, materials and funds.
Coordinate with the other PBS business lines regarding space allocations and agency requests for relocation and validate justifications. Consult with top level occupant agency management regarding plans for assignment/reassignment and utilization of office, storage and special purpose space. Ensure usage and space rehabilitations, conversions or modifications comply with life safety, environmental and jurisdictional codes.
Administer contracts pertaining to the operation and maintenance of building systems, elevator maintenance, custodial operations, trash and debris removal and recycling.
Supervise subordinates performing tasks such as, but not limited to assigning and planning work; establishing performance objectives and evaluating work performance; developing and implement methods for improving productions, quality of work, and morale; providing advice, counsel, or instruction; recommending hiring, promotion or reassignment actions; taking disciplinary measures; assessing training needs and providing training.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $117,962 per year. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service managing large office buildings or large office complexes including assigning tasks to staff; improving customer and client agency satisfaction with building services; negotiating service contracts and lease provisions; preparing service contracts; developing maintenance programs; evaluating and monitoring building operations, maintenance, repair, custodial, recycling, environmental management and alterations, etc. to ensure compliance with agency requirements and industry standards; performing budget formulation and execution; and conducting inspections of designated space or facilities.
