About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) at the Directorate of Human Resources - Military Personnel Division in Fort Sill, OK.

Duties

Provide specialized knowledge and expertise regarding military personnel procedures and programs. Execute a full range of administrative, advisement, technical, and clerical duties in order to accomplish mission(s). Serve as a liaison with officials of other government and civic interest organizations to enhance effectiveness of the military personnel division programs. Supervise a subordinate staff of civilian personnel and contracted employees performing a full range of military personnel functions.

Requirements

  • Supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • Position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
  • Employee must be willing and able to travel in military and commercial aircraft and vehicles.
  • Employee may be required to work overtime.
  • Employee is required to work other than duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Employee must obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Applying principles, practices, and procedures involved in administering military personnel programs; 2) Processing military personnel actions; and 3) Compiling statistics related to military personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business administration or human resources. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: HR Information Systems ApplicationLeadershipManaging Human ResourcesTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
