About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force & Coast Guard, meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces.
Duties
As an Administrative Services Technician, you will:
Account for current and incoming inventory items.
Adhere to rules and guidelines while performing the duties of a Purchasing Agent.
Track the status of assets utilizing automated systems.
Independently evaluate the need for facility and equipment maintenance.
Advise and assist Commander and staff members on all matters pertaining to motor vehicle management and maintenance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security investigation.
- This position requires you to possess or be able to obtain and maintain government purchase card.
- This position requires you to possess a current or be able to obtain and maintain a HAZMAT certification.
- This position requires you to possess a current or be able to obtain and maintain a Blood Borne Pathogen certification.
- The duties of this position require you to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires you to be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Maintaining an automated inventory system to account for company's local and remote supply inventory; Resolving issues with supply requests to ensure required supplies can be obtained; Making approved purchases with a government or company credit card within established limits; Assisting in the management and/or maintenance of an organization's motor vehicle fleet. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualifications requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
