You will serve as a Supervisory Operations Research Analyst in the Cost and Acquisition Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will ensure that all products and services provided to Cost and Acquisition Analysis Department Customers are in accordance with established policy, procedures and processes.
You will coordinate with the NAVAIR Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) when you are uncertain about criteria associated with SME empowerment, or the execution of technical work.
You will acquire the knowledge needed to maintain their technical proficiency in the area of cost analysis (theories, methods, techniques, tools, training etc.).
You will share lessons learned, knowledge and data (cost, technical and programmatic) gained through the execution of duties and by attending professional conferences and training events.
You will contribute to change and growth within the Cost Department by assisting in the research and development of new tools, techniques, processes, and training.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09-12) or pay band (NM-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Supervisory Operations Research Analyst. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: 1) Developing and delivering high quality cost products and services effectively; 2) Utilizing strong analytical skills using Excel spreadsheets, formulas, or other analytical modeling tools; 3) Preforming work related to problem solving using advanced techniques, such as big data mining, optimization, statistical analysis and mathematical modeling, to come up with solutions that help an organization operate more efficiently and cost-effectively; and 4) Presenting, defending, and justifying estimates and negotiating effectively to gain consensus with others.

A degree in operations research
OR
At least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
