About the Position: Position serves as an Information Technology Specialist at a Military Surface Deployment and Distribution (SDDC) Brigade.

Duties

Maintain management and security of the maintenance computers that directly connects to the respective crane ICS/SCADA systems. Communicate with ICS/SCADA/FRCS system owners to coordinate security requirements and ensure compliance with applicable DoD, DA, and NIST requirements. Conduct analyses and implements resolution of complex issues affecting their area of responsibility (AOR). Perform cybersecurity duties and responsibilities. Serve as the primary point of contact during maintenance phases to coordinate desired changes to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Perform traditional system administration duties on various Windows Operating Systems that are the foundation of the assigned maintenance computer(s). Maintain cybersecurity for five (5) crane platforms.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position mandates completing training and obtaining DoD 8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Management certification within six months. Failure to comply may result in termination.
  • Position designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency. The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty.
  • The incumbent may be required to deploy on 24-hour notice at such time as directed to support ship to shore crane operations at all CONUS locations.

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: clearly explaining and defending complex ideas, appropriately adapting to each audience's level of knowledge; actively listening and clarifying points when presenting highly complex and controversial findings; using well-constructed, fact-based arguments to persuade stakeholders/officials to take action on suggestions for improvement. (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing precedent setting solutions to unique problems not previously encountered; helping team make decisions which are complicated by the number and nature of existing policy, guidelines, and organizational goals; identifying the root causes of problems; developing systemic solutions to address them and prevent them from reoccurring.
